A Monday meme
1. List 5 sayings/slang/catch phrases you say a lot:
1.) D'oh! (thank you Homer!)
2.) Excellent! (thank you Mr. Burns)
3.) There's no changes in Theatre (with intonation of "There's no crying in Baseball!")
4.) Have I said recently how much I hate Christmas Lights?
5.) Done is good.
Granted, most of these have been used a lot THIS WEEK, not necessarily beyond that.
2. Do you prefer to greet people with physical contact (handshake, hug), or just verbally (saying 'hello' or 'how are you')?
I love to greet people with a hug. Unfortunatly, not as many people I greet have the same inclination. Usually verbally now a days.
3. Do you have an accent? How would you describe your voice?
I don't think I have an accent (does anybody?) I've lived in the midwest all my life, with parents from Nebraska. Who's to say? My voice, a rumbling basso.
4. How do you usually answer the phone? If you have an answering machine or voicemail, what does your recording say?
Usually just Hello? Growing up, we always used to say "Hello, Smith's" (for example, our name really wasn't smith), but I stopped that for more anonymity. At home, I usually have a machine on, and use it to filter calls. Every time the power goes out, we lose my personal message, so it's usually the computer default, "Please leave a message after the tone."
5. Do you prefer to talk to people online (email, instant messages, etc...) or verbally (phone or in-person)?
I love chatting online. It allows me to filter my thoughts. My tongue is rarely as eloquent as I want it to be, or as eloquent as I picture it being.
I was the 107th person to take this week's Monday Meme!
