A long week
It's been a long eventful week for me. Our theatre is trying a new event. We're hooking up with an independant comedy troupe to do a late-night show, after our regularly scheduled Midsummer show at 8pm. Their show starts at 11 and goes to about 12:30. It's sketch comedy for the first half, and improv comedy for the end. The sketches are a mix of humor and pathos, and vary from slightly humorous, thru downright stupid, to insulting. The improv is all basicly stolen from "Who's line is it anyway?", using audience suggestions to fuel comedic scenes. In short, sometimes the comedy is humorous, sometimes not. At least it's extra money in my paycheck for minimal work.
I also had to go into the doctor this week. I was running out of my b.p. meds and needed a refill. In order to do that I had to go in. Of course. He didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know, or know he was going to say. My bp is fine, on the meds. I've gained weight, and need to lose a bunch. I think I may actually start trying to exercise more. I'm noticing that I get out of breath easier than I used to. I need to drop some of this weight. And he wants me to redo my cholesterol screening from 2 years or so ago. My numbers were not extreme, borderline high. But that was quite a while ago. And the occasional arthritis-like ache in my knuckles is not anything serious, just something I should switch from Ibuprofen to Aleve for. As long as my knuckles aren't red or warm, it's fine.
This week is also a UHL hockey game. The theater got some ticket trades with the Ice Hogs and are going as a group. 30 of us or so, actors and staff alike. It's always a fun time. That's on Wed. evening. Sometime this week I also need to go shopping for something to wear to our Night of Stars. I'm SO not fashion oriented. I really don't care too much how I'm dressed, but this is an official work benefit, and I should at least look presentable. The only dilemma is that the theme is A Night in Old Havana. Should I go for something a bit more caribbean? or something generic? I'm not the flashy type, probably something generic, or even grey! I'm fully not expecting to have a good time there, and will probably just try to hide out in the corner. Though I'll probably take my camera for a postable shot or two, not that I want to remember the event.
We had that snowstorm blow thru earlier in the week. Dumped a whole 2" of snow that was pretty wimpy, and was gone in two days. Now it's out over the NE of the US, and dumping a little bit more snow, but those pansies just can't take it. Let them try a Midwest winter sometime. (Although it's been quite a while since WE've had a real Midwest winter for that matter.)
I just got a call from S telling me that the poker party for tonight has to be postponed. This is good since I didn't know that we were planning one tonight. Anyway, it's now next Sunday afternoon. Hopefully, it'll be better attended.
Looks like it'll be an eventfull week upcoming too.
