Quandry
My parents have called. They want to do something different for Christmas this year. For the last several years, my brother had spent christmas with them, and so this year they want, or need, to get out. They want to take Wife and I on a Caribbean cruise. Wife somewhat wants to go but is throwing so many obstacles in the way that it's going to be impossible for us. First the dogs. We've found a kennel in the area that will be great (no idea about price though). We can get somebody in every day or two to put down food for the cats.
Next, Her father. Wife says that he'll be really upset if we don't visit him as we go out to Florida. We've put him off for years on the pretext that the dogs keep us homebound. So we'd have to drive to Florida via Tennessee. Which ties into the next problem...
Next, the trip. I brought up that my parents would fly us out there, and maybe even help with the dog boarding costs. Wife pointed out that she probably won't fit in a typical airline seat. I then said that we'd have to spring for first class (or be lucky enought to find a flight that wasn't full so we could take up a row for ourselves. But, during Christmastime, and into Florida, I find it unlikely.). But then we're back to Problem two: Her dad.
There is one last option. But it's obvious that it's not being brought up at this time.
